B4: Before | Bricks for

B4 (Bricks for e before) è un progetto di comunicazione proposto al Salone del Restauro 2013 da B4bricks.org  ed il Dipartimento di Architettura dell’Università di Ferrara, in collaborazione con il Laboratorio TekneHub, Piattaforma Costruzioni della Rete Alta Tecnologia Regione Emilia-Romagna, e Consorzio Ferrara Ricerche con lo scopo di esplorare i concetti legati alla conservazione del patrimonio storico e culturale ed ai progetti di valorizzazione dell’Heritage. L’idea dei mattoncini, della costruzione e della costruzione ludica, vuole essere molto più di una semplice suggestione o di una metafora “positiva”, sicuramente efficace in un momento di oggettiva difficoltà e crisi. Molto ruota attorno al LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® (LSP), una metodologia di ‘gioco serio’ (si rimanda per un approfondimento sul tema agli articoli su http://www.legoviews.com), adottato in forma sperimentale nella didattica.

L’idea di B4B, del “mattoncino per”, il ”bricks for” che si completa con la seconda B desinente, assumendo declinazioni e sfumature di senso, nasce dall’esperienza descritta nel box “What is Heritage?” e mantiene l’idea del Before sullo sfondo.

Per sottolineare il modo in cui i temi chiave proposti possano operare assieme (LEGO/LEGO SERIOUS PLAY/LEGO Architecture/Heritage/Inclusività) lo spazio B4B ospiterà una conferenza finale a Restauro 2013 il 23 marzo: “LEGO & ARCHITECTURE: the serious game of understanding ‘time/space/relationship”, a cui parteciperanno esperti internazionali tra cui, per la prima volta in Italia, Robert Rasmussen, l’inventore del metodo LSP (per ulteriori informazioni si rimanda al sito  http://www.b4bricks.org).

B4B si propone come un cantiere aperto delle idee, per costruire una rete di competenze ed esperienze, per rinnovare i processi, per rifondare un approccio critico condiviso che preceda l’azione e soprattutto per procedere, in tutto questo, con metodo e non lasciare tante energie a disperdersi nel mare delle buone intenzioni.

B4Box è lo spazio espositivo vero e proprio: una BricksBox che interpreta le versioni dell’Alberti’s Box e del Michelangelo’s Box con un funzionamento forse inverso: nei due casi citati è il Box a muoversi, contaminando spazi e contesti culturali differenti; nel caso del BricksBox è questo spazio a farsi contaminare (dalle esperienze, dalle competenze, dalle attività, dalle culture). Nelle prime si entrava per percepire, in questa si entra per creare.

B4BRIC (Brasile, Russia, India, Cina) o B4BIG (Brasile, India, Georgia): non è un caso che proprio i Paesi cosiddetti emergenti (in realtà le nuove potenze economiche) si pongano il problema della conservazione del proprio patrimonio culturale e non è un caso che da questi Paesi si veda con attenzione all’esperienza europea e nello specifico italiana. B4BRIC o B4BIG vuole essere soprattutto una piattaforma di confronto in cui superare le barriere culturali e porsi una domanda: What is Heritage?

B4Brain è lo spazio in cui verrà lanciato il Cultural Heritage Inclusive Design Contest – CHIDeC – il concorso internazionale che nasce sull’idea dell’inclusività delle discipline, delle competenze e nella fruizione. I membri della giuria del CHIDeC (presieduta da François Burkhardt) si metteranno in gioco, in un workshop LSP, per elaborare la propria visione di Heritage e di Inclusività.

B4Bridge è il workshop che vedrà la partecipazione di studenti provenienti da diverse facoltà e diverse nazioni. Studenti di Design, di Architettura e di Economia elaboreranno in un workshop LSP di due giorni una proposta metaprogettuale di valorizzazione inclusiva dell’Heritage.

B4Beginners è lo spazio mostra dedicato alle attività svolte dagli studenti del Dipartimento di Architettura di Ferrara. Verranno mostrati i momenti salienti del processo di elaborazione: dalle clip video riprese durante i Workshop LSP fino agli elaborati di presentazione. Con questa mostra, nel racconto di un esperienza, si risponderà ad una legittima curiosità: cosa succede nel concreto dopo un workshop LSP?

B4Business  e B4Building identifica le attività per le imprese, gli Enti e le organizzazioni  e gli studi professionali che vorranno adottare il metodo LSP nella propria gestione interna. In particolare, per i professionisti, due i servizi: Vision è una proposta di workshop mirato alla definizione dell’identità degli studi professionali con struttura complessa. In sostanza è un tradizionale workshop LSP tagliato sugli studi professionali. Project è una proposta di workshop mirato alla definizione degli obiettivi di gruppi di lavoro temporanei per la negoziazione con committenti, utenti, enti interessati, ecc. Un tavolo di confronto inclusivo tra i diversi attori del processo progettuale.Nel corso di Restauro 2013 verranno date tutte le informazioni sulle modalità dei workshop e raccolte preadesioni. B4Brief è lo spazio aperto a tanti interventi sui temi dell’inclusività e dell’Heritage. Focus specifico sul colore, quale fattore inclusivo nella comunicazione e valore connotante le diversità identità culturali. Parteciperanno a questi Brief Francesca Valan, Gianni Cagnazzo e gli esperti EPSON.

B4Bare è il progetto di video interviste realizzate con un metodo basato su LSP che utilizza i mattoncini per mettere a nudo i punti di vista più profondi su temi complessi: Heritage/Inclusività/Architettura/Ruolo dell’architetto/Colore/Design/Arte, ecc. In questo spazio verranno presentate e realizzate alcune interviste ad esponenti delle istituzioni, delle professioni, della cultura, delle arti. (Approfondimento >>)

B4Brand è lo spazio dedicato agli sponsor e sostenitori del progetto B4. Una mostra dei modelli LEGO Architecture sarà il link al tema dei Maestri del ‘900, proposto a Restauro 2013 con diverse iniziative.

B4: Before | Bricks for

B4 (Bricks for e before) is a communication project to be presented at Restauro 2013 by B4bricks.org and the  Department of Architecture – University of Ferrara, together with Tekehub, and with the  High Tecnology Network of the Emilia Romagna and Consorzio Ferrara Ricerche. The aim is to explore concepts related to historical and cultural Heritage, preservation and relevant projects. Referring to bricks, that recalls both the real building processes and the playful activity enhanced by LEGO bricks, it is much more than a positive metaphor or a fascinating idea to get the attention in such a current critical moment in Western societies. The project is mostly inspired by LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® (LSP) and by its application as an educational resource as experienced by the Department of Architecture (read more on legoviews.com).

B4B is a concept that resulted from the experience described in the box “What is Heritage”. The initial B4, “bricks for”, is integrated by the final B that denotes the essence and it distinguishes the different topics, by keeping, at the same time, the meaning of “before” in back ground.

To better combine and underline how the key themes  (LEGO / LEGO SERIOUS PLAY /LEGO Architecture / Heritage / Inclusion) can work together, we organised a final conference in Ferrara during Restauro 2013 on Saturday 23rd March: “LEGO & ARCHITECTURE: the serious game of under standing ‘time/space/relationship”. Many international experts will take part to this event, including Mr. Robert Rasmussen, the inventor of LSP, and will share their experiences that combine LEGO and Heritage.

B4B is meant to be an open space for ideas, aiming at building a competences and experiences network that can renew processes, establish a shared critical approach that could precede actions with a sound methodological approach so that good ideas are not lost within ‘good intentions’.

B4Box: this is the exhibition stand. It is a BricksBox that recalls the previous Alberti’s Box and Michelangelo’s Box, but with a key difference: these two are moving Boxes that contaminate spaces and culture; BricksBox, is a standing box which is contaminated by the experience, the competences, the activities and the cultures that live the space. The first two boxes enhance a perceptive experience so that visitors can learn about Heritage; the BricksBox, on the other hand, enhances a cognitive experience, so that people can reflect and think about Heritage.

B4BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) o B4BIG (Brazil, India, Georgia): these so-called developing Countries (or to say it better, the new economic leaders) are now tacking the issue of their Heritage and its preservation, and by doing so, they look at the European experiences, specifically to the Italian ones, with a growing interest. B4BRIC or B4BIG  is a space to share ideas and experiences, to overcame cultural barriers and to face a question: What is Heritage?

B4Brain: this title embraces a number of initiatives to launch CHIDeC (Cultural Heritage Inclusive Design Contest), an international contest calling for projects that significantly improve cultural Heritage accessibility and inclusivity [both physical and content accessibility]. The Jury’s members, together with its nominated president, François Burkhardt, will take part to an LSP workshop, to build their shared vision of Heritage and Inclusivity.

B4Bridge: this is an LSP Workshop involving students from different cultural and educational backgrounds [students in management, design and architecture]. They will build those bridges to better understand what is Heritage and how different needs and visions can be merged into a new approach to Heritage.

B4Beginners: it’s the exhibition of students’ projects who developed their proposals and their works starting with an LSP workshop at the Department of Architecture at University of Ferrara. The videos of students’ workshops and their final projects will be presented to show visitors how much an LSP can affect the teamwork construction and outcomes. The question this space will try to give an answer is: what does happen after an LSP Workshop, in practice?

B4Business & B4Building: These are spaces to present LSP workshops’ potential and opportunities to Companies and Professionals. More information will be available during Restauro 2013 and at B4B.wordpress.com blog.

B4Brief: a space open to any talk about Heritage  and inclusivity. In this space, there will be a special event focusing on Colours with Gianni Cagnazzo, Francesca Valan, in collaboration with EPSON Italia.

B4Bare:a number of interviews based on the LegoViews technique (www.legoviews.com) will involve several leading experts in the field of Heritage. Few Lego Interviews will be done live during the event, while others will be shown on screen during the event and available online. (More >>)
